Release Notes

Added code to loop and analyze all databases in the same directory as the chosen file.

Actually, if you look behind the scenes, you will discover that you can actually populate LfA{_}Dirs and LfA{_}Files yourself and do even more. There is a hidden checkbox on the Analyzer menu to recurse folders -- hidden to limit regular users from doing too much.

After each analysis, the Analyzer will get its own file size. If > 1.7 gb, it will stop, leaving all files to still be done in the data. You will see where the Analyzer stopped. First backup, then Compact/Repair. If there is still not enough space, you can start the Analyzer where it left off with a new copy.

Some of the new tables are:

a{_}Batches is renamed to:

There is no longer referential integrity between batches and databases so it is possible for a BatchID not to match anything. This was done to make is easier to delete lists of files which may be in line for analyzing (for instance, if you load the Analyzer with external results such as what you can get from the free ListFiles program).

Batches are for grouping databases that were analyzed. Your way to group is DbType (custom type). Both batch and custom type (available to pick but not implemented -- maybe you can find where to add that?) are criteria for combined reports.

You can, of course, modify the data as desired and change the Batch.

The Delete ALL button, which you can only see the button for when you are on an analysis, clears all the data that was automatically inserted (note: this is done on a record basis, so if values were manually changed, they will be lost too).

Bugs in statistics were fixed (counts for max and min values). Where specialized handling still needs to be added for specific data types, the statistics are skipped. Some of the calculations are optimized. Performance is enhanced by reducing some of the calculation errors.

To go along with the new looping capability is a new category for reports: Combined. Reports. In this category, reports combine results from all the database analyses that have been done. They can be also be filtered in case there are multiple sets. A few of the existing reports were also changed.

One of the next things in line is to, finally, enable the Optimizer, which has been in the Analyzer for several versions. It is not quite ready for prime-time but has been used in customized cases with success. the Optimizer is an additional tool, built on top of the Analyzer results, to create an optimized version of a database structure and transfer the data.
